In this gallery blog of words and art, I am looking at how arts and culture exists in societies and systems in Canada. Through reflection and research, I am doing this through the writing and artistic creation of words. My hope is to stitch words and meaning together and consider opportunities for change.
Weaving Fibre and Words
I am teaching myself to weave and in the weaving of fibre, I am able to find the words to write poetry. In my weaving and writing, I am exploring who I am on this land and what my responsibility is to my ancestors, my family, my community, the land and water, and myself.

I am writing a memoir as part of my decolonization journey. I am trying to better understand how I came to be living in/on/with Turtle Island (known as Canada) and who I am on this land so that my children will know who they are, who they belong to, and where they are going.
